I'm not sure why, but this week I feel like I'm all over the place. I am having a tough time balancing work, family, boyfriend, friends, getting to the gym, and getting my life organized in general (the list goes on and on). While perusing the internet last night, I found a few quotes that really resonated with me. I need to pick one thing to focus on at a time & realize that not everything will get done at once. How do you get your focus back? I'd love to know!

"I always try to balance the light with the heavy: a few tears of human spirit in with the sequins and and the fringes." - Bette Midler
"Women need real moments of solitude and self-reflection to balance how much of ourselves we give away." - Barbara de Angelis
I totally relate! Between work, friends, family, my boyfriend, working out, blogging, etc it's hard to really balance it all. I try to schedule a time to sit down and plan my week every Sunday. I don't know what I would do w/o my planner!
ReplyDeletefor me it's a question of saying 'no' more often. what's the point in getting it all done but not enjoying any of it. so I started to prioritize... doesn't always work :)
ReplyDeleteI completely understand- it can be tough to fit it all in and feel like you are doing it with love and compassion. When I have lost focus I tend to try and be alone, journal, and rediscover what it is I truly want. Then, I cut out the things I am doing that are unnecessary and aren't helping me get to my goals. I hope this helps! I just found your blog and I am in love!! I am excited to be your newest follower. :)

ReplyDeleteI feel your pain here... it is tough to try to fit everything in. I'm not super great at balance, but I find that making lists and crossing things off on the weekends really helps - especially in the early morning hours when it's easy to be productive. I also heard once that it's best to get your worst task off the list first as it makes everything else seem less stressful... I do this at work and it always helps me balance my priorities better for the rest of the day!
ReplyDeleteI feel you here. I can so relate and was actually going to go explore some inspirational quotes myself. Balancing is the ultimate life challenge. The fact that you are aware means you are on the right track! New follower. :)

All very true! I find that sometimes having many interests is a blessing and a curse - because I feel that I don't get to focus in one specific direction. I'm the jane of all trades;) And also that spills over into Quality Time - it's one of my big things this year - doing small things for friends/family - it's so often that I think of them, but then don't find the time to put those thoughts into action because I get so busy!
